Republic Day

The National Flag was unfurled at SJC by our Chief Guest accompanied by our Principal, Vice Principal, staff, cabinet members, supervisor and PT master. Our Chief Guest, Mr. Mohan Garasiya, unfurled the National Flag along with our Principal, Vice Principal and PT Master. Our school cabinet members of Std IX and X participated in doing the welcome speech, prayer, pledge and preamble which was recited and every person present pledged their loyalty to the country. The cabinet members sang a patriotic song and a speech was given in Hindi. The Principal enthroned 'The Constitution of India' by lighting a lamp next to it. The Constitution of India is the supreme law of India and it lays down the framework defining fundamental, political principles, establishes the structure, procedures, powers and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles and the duties of citizens. Few slogans were also said by the PT master like Hum Sab Ek Hai, Bharat Mata Ki Jai etc. The respective teachers of various Std's had online celebrations and competitions with their students and explained the significance of the day.

Republic Day Craft

The students of Std VII were excited to attend a craft class on January 18th, 2022 where they learnt how to make a tricolour paper peacock. This simple yet attractive craft combines the three colours of our flag along with our national bird, the peacock. The students got into the patriotic spirit by displaying their craft work around the house.

The activities for Republic Day began a couple of days in advance with information about the history & significance of the Indian Flag and of Republic Day being given to all students. To commemorate Republic Day, students were encouraged to participate in various activities planned & jointly conducted by the class teachers of std IX. These included Card Making & Tri-colour Craft, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, and a Quiz. The first three highest scorers of each class were announced to the students on Republic Day itself. Our main aim for this Republic Day was to ensure that our children clearly understand the meaning of Republic Day and why it is celebrated.

The students of Std VIIA enthusiastically participated for the January 26th celebration as per the circular received from the department. They participated in various competitions and activities held on that day.

A Republic Day quiz was held on January 26th, where 177 students participated in the quiz conducted by Ms. Simin Shah.

Students also participated in the craft session of the 'Tricolour Peacock' conducted by Ms. Candida Britto.

There was a patriotic song singing live competition held via Zoom App conducted by Ms. Simin Shah and Ms. Rupal Shah. 10 students participated in the Live singing competition and it was judged by Ms. Leena Vairale and Ms. Rina Dixit.

Students also took the initiative of 'Planting a Sapling' on the occasion of Republic Day and some dressed in 'Traditional and Regional Attires' representing the cultural and varied diversity of our country, India.

Students further participated in the Hindi Essay writing competition conducted by Ms. Sabina Gonsalves.

'A thoughtful mind, when it sees a nation's flag, sees not the flag, but the nation itself' 

On the occasion of 73rd Republic Day, the class teachers of Std V prepared a list of activities for January 26th for the students on the theme - 'Diversity in India'. 

The activity list is as follows:

1. Creative Art:  

  • Drawing/Poster making
  • Rangoli
  • Craft
  • Cooking

2. Colours of Patriotism: 

  • Dancing
  • Singing a song
  • Reciting a poetry
  • Playing instrumental music

3. Role Play:  

  • Freedom Fighters
  • Leaders
  • Traditional Attire

The students showed active participation by sending their activities in the form of videos and images on WhatsApp to their class teachers. The best entries were selected to be featured in the YouTube video compiled and edited by Ms. Ashnima Andrades. The link of the same is as follows:

A live singing competition of Patriotic Songs on Zoom App was conducted by a teacher for Std VII on January 26th from 4pm to 4:45pm. There were a total of 10 participants.

The Judges were Ms. Rina Dixit and Ms. Leena Vairale and this competition was attended by Sr. Lalita, Sr. Jenny, Ms. Vandana, Ms. Simin and Ms. Sabina.

Result of this Competition:

  • 1st place - Arya Dalvi from VIIC
  • 2nd place - Suzzane Chauhan from VIIA
  • 3rd place - Swari Jadhav from VIIB
  • Speech on Republic Day

A total of 36 students from VIIC participated.

On the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day, the teachers of Std X organized various activities for the students.

Students participated in activities like poster making, essay writing and prepared beautiful craft articles themed Republic Day. To show their patriotism towards the country, students sang and danced to patriotic songs. They showcased their talents by preparing tricolor food dishes.

Pictures and videos based on the different activities done by them were then sent to their respective class teachers.

We Are One!

Republic Day is the time to recall the constitution framed by Dr. Baba Shaheb Ambedkar. The students of Std VIIID celebrated a virtual republic day on January 26th, 2022, with full joy and enthusiasm. The program was as follows:

  • Prayer service
  • Showing creativity through art and craft
  • A short speech
  • Dance on patriotic song
  • Quiz

The aim of all the activities was to keep students connected and celebrate the occasion with patriotic fervor.
