BLESSED MOTHER MARIE THERESE HAZE
Foundress of the
Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross
Of Liege
HISTORICAL NOTE

The Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross was founded by Blessed Marie Therese Haze in Liege, Belgium on 8th September, 1833. She was born on February 28, 1782 and died on January 7, 1876.
Her childhood and early womanhood were lived against the political upheaval of the French Revolution in so far as it affected Belgium.
She experienced the loss of home, loved ones, possessions and knew what it was to be poor and displaced, to have nothing. Her only security was in God. It was through contemplating the self-giving of Jesus on the Cross that she founded the Congregation of the Daughter of the Cross to help suffering humanity.
Blessed Marie Therese is an inspiration to everyone at St. Joseph's Convent High School, Bandra. She is our Role Model.
For effective management, and to encourage full participation in various school activities, the school is divided into four houses. Each house is guided by an Ideal, which is a further spelling out of the school motto. The Houses are distinguished one from the other in the following way:
