If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours: Today, October 7th, as we celebrate World Smile Day, the students of Std VD along with their class teacher organised a wonderful assembly which was devoted to smiles and acts of kindness. A short history about Mr. Harvey Ball, a commercial artist who designed the SMILEY SYMBOL was read out along with many interesting facts about SMILES. A meaningful prayer was said by the teacher on the same theme and a relevant hymn was played alongside. The students also suggested a lot of ways to observe and celebrate this day at its best.
A few of these suggestions were:
- Do a random act of kindness for someone.
- Use a smiley face emoji on every text message you send today.
- Spread cheer by handing out smiley face stickers or balloons or just some diy cut outs.
- Just give a smile to everyone you come across.
- Tell someone a funny joke or an incident that brings a smile on their face.
Or... - Take a selfie of your own smile and share it on your parents / siblings' social media handles with the hashtag #WorldSmileDay.
At the end the class wished everyone a day packed with smiles, laughter and happiness.
